FF Week 16 – “Yeah, I’m Still Playin'” Edition

I lost in the first round of the playoffs last week. I made all the moves that I could, but not all of ’em worked out – new pickup Chris Cooley was a piece of shit, scooping up Indianapolis’ defense against the Detroit Lions bit me in the ass, and my squad’s superstar Anquan Boldin disappointed with only 1.40 points. Despite solid performances from Larry Johnson, DeAngelo Williams and Chad Pennington, my opponent just had too many weapons: Peyton Manning and Dominic Rhodes murked the Lions for nearly 50 points between them, and Marcus Colston, Santana Moss, and Wes Welker all had great games as well. I did the math, and even if I would’ve made all the right subs, I still would’ve lost. Final score: 117.22-70.90.

So now I’m in the Loser’s Bracket, playing for 5th place. Today was a really close game…until this evening, when DeAngelo Williams (pictured above) exploded for 108 yards and four TDs against the normally decent New York Giants defense. By my calculations, I was winning by about three points – but Williams gave me a cushion of more than 30 points. My opponent has Greg Olsen playing Monday night, but I don’t think that’s going to get him the win. So I’ve already began planning my next game. Shoutout to Chad Pennington, too – young homie got me 26.4 today when he emerged from a shootout against Kansas City with three TDs and 235 yards. I’m just trying to end this season of Fantasy Football the right way – cuz that playoff exit was unacceptable.
